OSF HealthCare Volunteers Honored

Volunteers at OSF HealthCare Saint Elizabeth Medical Center and Center for Health – Streator were honored this month for their exceptional service. A total of 347 volunteers contributed 33,970 hours of service this past last year, an amount that equals 16 full-time employees.

“I wouldn’t do it, if I didn’t love it,” stated Joyce Cobler, 20,000 hour volunteer. “It is a great way to stay involved. I would encourage anyone who is interested to give volunteering at OSF HealthCare a try.”

Volunteers range in age from 13 up to 96. They provide assistance to a variety of service areas including Care-A-Van, clerical services, emergency department, escorts, hospice, the Family Room, hospitality, lobby information desk, outpatient, pastoral care, surgery waiting room, Gift Shop, and blood drives.

Volunteering at the hospital is a great way to stay active, serve your community, and make new friends. In addition, as a volunteer you will receive a free flu shot and have the opportunity to qualify for a complimentary membership at OSF LifeFit in Ottawa or the Streator Family YMCA.
