OSF HealthCare receives two Supply Chain excellence awards

OSF HealthCare has received the Supply Chain Excellence Award from Premier Inc., a leading healthcare improvement company, for its award-winning and revolutionary technologies to improve member quality outcomes. The Supply Chain Excellence award recognizes superior supply expense performance from across Premier’s membership of more than 4,400 hospitals and health systems and approximately 225,000 other providers.

OSF HealthCare was named the winner of two awards: OSF HealthCare in the integrated delivery network (IDN) category and OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee in the Critical Access Hospital (CAH) category.

“Through our work with Premier, we have been able to maintain a market competitive cost structure to serve our communities with the greatest care and love,” said Pinak Shah, Senior Vice President, Chief Supply Chain Officer, OSF HealthCare. “The work of the supply chain team across the OSF HealthCare Ministry helps us to control costs, which is beneficial for all of the patients and communities we serve.”

To be eligible, each organization had to submit four quarters of calendar data through the PINC AI™ platform, Premier’s industry-leading, comparative database of operational and supply chain cost information for acute care hospitals. Winners are performing at the highest levels within their supply chains as benchmarked against their peers.

“Achieving and sustaining strong supply chain performance is essential to an organization’s ability to serve its community,” said Andy Brailo, Chief Customer Officer at Premier. “We celebrate OSF HealthCare’s value-driven purchasing as well as its commitment to share best practices with the broader Premier alliance.”

With 40 indicators measuring and trending performance in cost and operations, the PINC AI™ platform enables healthcare providers to compare supply expense performance to that of similar facilities and easily identify improvement opportunities, elevating the ability to provide cost-effective, high-quality care.
