Volunteering can be one of the most rewarding ways to spend your time.
At OSF Saint Clare, we strive to make each volunteer’s experience a positive one, and we recognize volunteers as an essential part of the excellent care provided to our patients.
Our volunteers come from unique backgrounds but are commonly interested in helping others. The care and services they provide are invaluable to patients, families, the hospital and community.
OSF Saint Clare volunteers are men and women from our communities. They are warm and caring individuals that contribute their time, talent and dedication to assist the hospital in a wide variety of activities.

Volunteer opportunities
Our volunteer team provides service in a variety of areas.
North Lobby Desk and Main Entrance Desk
Volunteers greet and welcome patients and visitors to OSF Saint Clare. They assist patients who need wheelchairs and transport them to where they need to go. Volunteers at these locations provide directions to provider offices and hospital departments. On occasion, they will assist Mission Partners with mailings and other light clerical duties.
Registration Desk
When a patient enters the registration area, the volunteer should ensure the patient has checked in before taking a seat. Volunteers monitor wait times to be sure patients are not waiting too long.
Runners
Runners transport patients to their desired location. Runners also assist with discharged patients, bringing them down by wheelchair to the entrances to be picked up by their loved one. They make deliveries between departments when requested and assist Mission Partners with mailings and other light clerical duties.
The Corner Nook Gift Shop
Volunteers run the day to day operations, provide excellent customer service by greeting and visiting with customers and running the cash register. Volunteers also assist with light cleaning.
Gift Shop volunteers are able to choose from a variety of hours and days to work, making it convenient and flexible to serve.

An application and background check are required.
